Chili Cheese Dip

Chili Cheese Dip is a warm and hearty dip perfect for parties and barbecues. It's also a nice accompaniment to any spread on a cool day.

Ingredients

  • Can of chili with no beans
  • 2 packages of cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup of grated cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup of chopped green onions

How to Prepare

Throw all of the ingredients, except the green onions, into a microwave-safe bowl and cover. Heat in microwave for approximately 10 minutes or until bubbly. Add green onions, and stir until mixed. Serve warm with tortilla chips or Fritos.

Cucumber and Bacon Cream Cheese Sandwiches

These petite sandwiches are ideal for baby showers or a ladies tea. Kids love them too, and will enjoy finding these sandwiches packed in their school lunch.

Ingredients

  • Cocktail bread slices
  • Cream cheese, softened
  • Cooked bacon, crumbled into small pieces
  • Cucumber, sliced thinly

How to Prepare

Stir bacon into cream cheese. Spread cream cheese mixture onto one side of a piece of cocktail bread. Top with a cucumber slice, and place another slice of bread on top to make sandwich. Chill until ready to serve.

Feta Bruschetta

Feta Bruschetta is a crowd-pleasing starter at any dinner party.

Ingredients:

  • A French baguette loaf
  • Olive Oil
  • 1 cup of Feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1 cup chopped tomatoes, seeded

How to Prepare:

Cut bread into slices. Generously brush each bread slice with some olive oil. Sprinkle a few pieces of cheese and tomato onto each slice. Place on a baking sheet and back at 350 degrees until hot and bubbly, approximately 7 minutes.

Avocado Dip

Avocado dip goes with everything, but especially hits the spots at cocktail hour or Mexican food-inspired meals.

Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • A lime
  • Pinch of pepper

How to Prepare:

Peel and pit avocados and mash with a fork. Mix in sour cream and fresh-squeezed juice from the lime. Add a pinch of pepper to taste. Chill dip for about 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to mix. Serve with tortilla chips.

From dips and sandwiches to a warm bruschetta, there's something here fit for any occasion. In fact, these snacks are so simple to prepare, why not whip some up just for an after-school snack or indulge yourself while watching your favorite television show.
